Mr. Peanut

Mr. Peanut

We’re famous for our fresh roasted peanuts. In fact, we roast tens of thousands of pounds each year in our 1903 peanut roaster. It used to sit on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, near the Steel Pier. To promote our peanuts, staff members used to dress up in this Mr. Peanut costume and wave to passersby along the road. We also had a gorilla costume, because why not. This sturdy plastic costume was produced sometime in the mid-1900s and was used to sell peanuts to the masses.

Sadly this isn’t the first one of these we’ve owned. This priceless costume melted in a devastating fire that took our business in 2010. But a friend of ours, Randy, searched and found a perfect replacement, and we’re ever-grateful to him.

While we don’t wear Mr. Peanut now, we do still roast peanuts a couple times each week. Try a light, medium, or dark roast nut. We also sell them raw, and sometimes, by accident, extra dark. They are so fresh, we promise you won’t even miss the salt. Just throw the shells outside, as the grass and wildlife love them!

Or maybe you want to take home some peanut butter, which we grind fresh every week in a variety of flavors, from honey roasted to natural. One thing is for sure…we’re a little nutty!
